Red Rili Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi var. 'Rili') are popular freshwater dwarf shrimp known for their transparent bodies and vivid red sections on the head and tail. Hardy and peaceful, they make excellent beginner-friendly additions to planted tanks and act as active algae-eaters.
Care Requirements
- Tank Size: 5 gallons or more.
- Water Temperature: 65°–80°F (18°–27°C).
- Water Parameters: pH: 7.2–7.6 | GH: 6–8 | KH: 3–8.
- Diet: Scavengers that primarily eat biofilm, algae, and decaying plant matter. Supplement with specialized shrimp pellets only 2–3 times a week.
- Tank Mates: Completely peaceful; best kept with other dwarf shrimp (of the same species to avoid crossbreeding), snails, and tiny non-aggressive fish.
