Minutes of Open Meeting held on 24th July at Sue’s house

Matters arising 

Jean had contacted Katrina re publicity

Valerie – to produce a report on members' balances for next newsletter which is due next month


Past Events

Brunch at the Vibes cafe attended by 3 people, one of which was a MK lets member. 

Walk and lunch, an excellent informative walk lead by Gill. 5 walked before lunch and 4 after lunch. Gill has offered to repeat this event slightly more north of the County.


Officers report

Sterling account £198.05

Membership – no change in membership, request for £5 by end of July. About 20 members have paid to date, Bob will chase up remainder in August.

Buzzard Treasurer – Only 27 trades but membership fees for July have not been taken. Valerie to investigate why not.

Welcoming New Members – possible ideas - new members event? Follow up phone call? Designated person for new members. For next event will ring new members to encourage them to attend.

Publicity

Discussed what we have tried in the past. With climate change high on the agenda and not buying everything, rent don’t buy.  Brainstormed ideas, media, noticeboards, pubs, supermarkets

Jean to ask Janet if she can display some of our leaflets on her market stall.


Future Events

Gill will lead another walk Autumn/Winter

Bob to confirm date of Raj meal for next newsletter.

Clothes trading event – Jane has contacted Di and awaiting a date

Quiz – Saturday November 9th  Jane to book plus follow up phone call to encourage new members to attend. (date tbc - since the meeting we have seen that the hall is already provisionally booked for church fair)

December Wreath making at Jane’s

Autumn Garden trading at Jean’s, date to be set

Meeting finished at 9.05pm and fresh produce was traded.
